A little bit about the Digital Freelancer…
My name is Lisa and I am a full-stack Digital Marketer and Strategist in Hutt Valley, Wellington.
I'd planned to study Law at Victoria University but was undecided as to what my minor would be, so I sampled several different papers, one of which was Media Studies.
Our first lesson critically evaluated printed ad campaigns and subliminal messaging. I was hooked. It blew my mind how ads if executed well, could evoke such strong feelings of loyalty and truly resonate with current and prospective consumers. I changed my degree to a BCom in Marketing immediately.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce Majoring in Marketing with Minors in English Literature and Commercial Law, I began my first role as a Coordinator at a charity where the Marketing budget was essentially zero. This really ignited a passion for helping small to medium-sized New Zealand businesses who don’t have huge budgets but understand the value of having a strong online presence and an active digital marketing plan.
Throughout my career, I’ve experienced a diverse range of working environments, all with very different goals from solely sales-focused to completely customer-centric.
After several years of working to help develop various companies digital strategies, improve their online presence and grow their brand, I decided to branch out on my own and The Digital Freelancer was born.
